Saint-Étienne, France, 27 December 2011

After Paris and Lyon, Saint-Étienne is a city pretty close to my heart. It is a city that Michèle began her teaching career and somewhat grew up in after Montceau-les-Mines. Over a year ago, the city was designated by UNESCO as a city of design, meaning that the city has become quite active recently in architecture and design. Once again I was reviewing the boutiques and again came across Weiss, the chocolate shop which is native to Saint-Étienne. Their chocolates are quite good (mais je préfère Valrhôna...chut!)

Paris, 23 December 2011

Paris during the holiday season...well, at least this season so far, the weather seemed quite mild (for me anyway). Michèle went about her errands while I went strolling through Saint-Germain-des-Prés window shopping. Paris becomes quite festive during the holidays, as the lighting on the trees within Saint-Germain-des-Prés would attest. Happy Holidays!

Paris, 20 December 2011

Michèle and I arrived in Paris, and within our first day here we did our rounds along the Boulevard Malesherbes and shopping at Printemps on Boulevard Haussmann. Later that evening, we went to see our dear friends Lise Vachon and her husband Vito Ricci perform at Swan Bar, which is an American jazz club located on Boulevard du Montparnasse. Lise's daughter, Emmanuelle was there performing also. The concert was terrific...we had a wonderful time!

Oh, By The Way... New York, 14 December 2011

But wait! One more thing that I needed to post before leaving for France next Monday is that this evening I was at a holiday fashion event sponsored by Coach and Vogue Magazine. It was held at the Coach store at East 57th Street and Madison Avenue. It was such a wonderful evening of champagne and sweets...and the fashionable stuff from Coach were not bad either!

Happy Holidays! New York, 10 December 2011

While I'm preparing to leave for France to spend the holidays with family and friends, I thought to leave all of you this photographic greeting from Grand Central Station. Yesterday was the opening of the new Apple Store there, and today I decided to go to the station to photograph the bunch of "santas" all congregating there. Once again, happy holidays to all!
